We are so excited for Westwood's first ever 1st grade program! Students should be here at 5:30 (doors will open at 5:30- no earlier), and they will go to their classrooms. Adults can go find a seat in the cafeteria until the performance starts at 6:00. There will be concessions for sale and a free photo booth. Students will be picked up back in their classrooms after the program is over around 6:30. See you soon!

We also celebrated Librarians’ Day last week. Mrs. Stark has done a FABULOUS job stepping in for us this semester. Kids are reading, going on scavenger hunts in the library…so many fun things! We appreciate you, Mrs. Stark.

This morning at approximately 7:40 AM Westwood elementary had an electrical fire in a piece of kitchen equipment in the kitchen area. Staff responded quickly and appropriately to secure the area. All students were evacuated and at no time were in danger. There were no injuries. The fire caused minimal damage to the cafeteria. We are thankful for the Springdale fire department for their quick response. They were on scene and confirmed that everything is safe at Westwood. Students will still be able to have food served in the cafeteria today. Very proud of our Westwood wolves and thankful for our Springdale fire department.

We are giving out remaining food Wednesday from 1:30-2:30. Thanks!

Free food giveaway starting now! Chicken, potatoes, and a box of non-perishables!

Save the Date! On Thursday, April 7, the Treehouse Pantry will have a drive-through diaper giveaway for the Springdale School District. No appointment needed.

Westwood parents- we are looking for someone to work as a childcare provider here at Westwood for our parents who are attending the Springdale Family Literacy Program. This would be for four hours per week- 9-11 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The pay is $13 an hour. Call the office if you are interested! Padres de Westwood: estamos buscando a alguien que trabaje como proveedor de cuidado infantil aquí en Westwood para nuestros padres que asisten al Programa de alfabetización familiar de Springdale.
